The expectation of a security guard's conduct is centered on professionalism and ethical behavior. This entails maintaining a high standard of integrity, honesty, and accountability in all interactions. A security guard represents the organization they work for and the security industry as a whole, which necessitates a demeanor that inspires confidence and trust among clients and the public. By exhibiting professionalism, security guards are better equipped to handle various situations effectively, make sound judgments, and communicate appropriately with both clients and law enforcement if necessary.

In addition, ethical behavior entails making decisions that respect the rights and dignity of individuals, ensuring that actions taken by the security guard are fair and just. This standard not only protects the security guard's reputation but also upholds the integrity of the security profession. Such behavior is crucial in maintaining a safe and orderly environment, which is the primary goal of a security guard's duties.
